In this lesson you will practice short dialogues using vocabulary and grammar from previous lessons.
Dialogue 1: Meeting Someone
A: 你好!你叫什么名字?
(Nǐ hǎo! Nǐ jiào shén me míng zì?)
Hi! What’s your name?
B: 我叫王明。你呢?
(Wǒ jiào Wáng Míng. Nǐ ne?)
My name is Wang Ming. And you?
A: 我叫Anna。你是学生吗?
(Wǒ jiào Anna. Nǐ shì xué shēng ma?)
I’m Anna. Are you a student?
B: 是,我是中文学生。
(Shì, wǒ shì zhōng wén xué shēng.)
Yes, I’m a Chinese (language) student.
Dialogue 2: Daily Routine
A: 你今天几点起床?
(Nǐ jīn tiān jǐ diǎn qǐ chuáng?)
What time did you get up today?
B: 我七点起床。然后吃了饭,去了学校。
(Wǒ qī diǎn qǐ chuáng. Rán hòu chī le fàn, qù le xué xiào.)
I got up at 7. Then I ate and went to school.
A: 你几点下课?
(Nǐ jǐ diǎn xià kè?)
What time do your classes end?
B: 下午三点。
(Xià wǔ sān diǎn.)
At 3 PM.
Dialogue 3: Talking About Family
A: 你家有几口人?
(Nǐ jiā yǒu jǐ kǒu rén?)
How many people are in your family?
B: 我家有五口人。爸爸、妈妈、哥哥、妹妹和我。
(Wǒ jiā yǒu wǔ kǒu rén. Bà ba, mā ma, gē ge, mèi mei hé wǒ.)
My family has five people: dad, mom, older brother, younger sister, and me.
Dialogue 4: Ordering in a Restaurant
A: 请给我菜单。
(Qǐng gěi wǒ cài dān.)
Please give me the menu.
B: 好的。你要吃什么?
(Hǎo de. Nǐ yào chī shén me?)
OK. What would you like to eat?
A: 我要一碗鸡肉面,不要辣的。再来一杯水。
(Wǒ yào yí wǎn jī ròu miàn, bú yào là de. Zài lái yì bēi shuǐ.)
I want one chicken noodle (dish), not spicy. Also one cup of water.
B: 好的,请等一下。
(Hǎo de, qǐng děng yí xià.)
OK, please wait a moment.
Extra Practice: Write Your Own Dialogue
Write a 4–6 line dialogue using the following:
- A greeting
- Asking someone’s name
- Saying what you can do (use 会 / 能)
- Ordering something or talking about your family
Tip: Use at least 2 grammar points from previous lessons (e.g., 是, 有, 了, 不, 没有, 吗, 会, 能).
